David Wheeler

David delivers strategic advice and management services for business. David has over 25 years Australian and APAC experience in the assessment, operation and improvement of ICT technologies as guided and directed by Governance structures and processes.

David uses his extensive background in management to guide and direct organisations in their endeavours to implement governance structures using Standards and Frameworks such as ISO 38500, ISO 27001, ISO 3100, ITIL® V3, COBIT®, BEF, PRINCE2® and others.

David has been involved with all major sections of the business community, having provided professional services for Telstra, Commonwealth Bank, Sandvik, Qantas, OCBC, Federal Courts and the Australian Electoral Commission amongst others.

David brings to bear an impressive list of certifications including MCSE, ITIL Masters V3, ITIL Expert, all ITIL V3 Capability and Lifecycle Certifications, PRINCE2, IT Infrastructure Management, Bachelor of Education, Cert. IV in Training and Development, Certified Information Security Manager and Lead Auditor Status for ISO9001 and ISO27001. David has extensive experience managing the risks involved in an enterprise environment (ISO31000) having worked within the largest corporate communications company and banking organisation in Australia (Telstra and Commonwealth Bank), and addition has worked in an outsourcing environment providing managed services to Qantas, Westpac Bank, OCBC Bank and others.
In more recent times David has focused on the ‘Pillars of Governance’ Risk, Security (Cyber security), Project Management – and Governance Structures that ensure a successful and competitive organisation. He has consulted to the ANZ Bank and Westpac Bank to train personnel in developing governance frameworks for ICT objectives.

In the capacity of training provider David has facilitated training programmes for Universities, TAFE, corporate entities, business schools and all manner of specialist training companies over a thirty year period. His experience extends to International programmes throughout the APAC region, and across a broad range of topics involved with Risk, Governance, Standards and Frameworks.

David’s practical experience and ability to bring to the training agenda a real world understanding has been the hallmark of the positive and affirmative feedback received from his training by all who attend.
